Temple in the land Bountiful3 Nephi 11:1 (constructed before A.D. 34)
After his crucifixion, the Saviour Jesus Christ appeared to the people at a temple in the land Bountiful, the Nephite-occupied land just north of the land of Zarahemla. At this temple he taught the people for three days. There is no mention of why the temple in the land Bountiful was chosen for this sacred occasion. We should note, however, that the city of Zarahemla had been “burned with fire” only a short time before and was not “built again” until sometime later (3 Ne. 8:8, 24; 9:3; 4 Ne. 1:8). There is no mention of materials that were used to build the temple in the land Bountiful. Updated: Friday, 1 October 2010
